What first pulled me in was the natural beauty of this area, especially the cenotes. Over time, Playa del Carmen became much more than a place I visited. It became home.
Since then, I have done a little bit of everything here. I owned a dive shop, Sealife Divers, for eight years, worked as a PADI instructor, and as a cave diver guide I got to experience a side of the Riviera Maya that most visitors never really see.
I also owned and ran a restaurant, Il Baretto, on 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen, managed vacation condos, and built websites like SeaMonkeyBusiness.com and several others along the way.
Why that matters for travel advice
All of that gave me a real connection to Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya from many different angles. Not just as a traveler, but as someone who has lived here, worked here, built businesses here, and watched the area change over the years.
This site is for people who want honest, practical Riviera Maya travel guidance from someone who has actually lived and worked here for a long time. I share useful advice on where to stay, what to do, how to get around, and how to enjoy the Riviera Maya without wasting time or money.
My goal is to help visitors make smarter choices with practical, trustworthy information and real local insight.
Coming back to the site
For a while, I stepped away from my websites because life got busy with other things. Now I am back, and I am enjoying it again. The good part is that technology has made building websites a whole lot easier than it used to be, so this time around I am having a lot more fun with it.
Why El Cuyo still matters to me
When I need a break from the hustle and bustle of Playa, I usually head to El Cuyo. There is something about it that reminds me of how Playa used to feel years ago: quieter, simpler, less rushed.
It is one of those places that helps you slow down and breathe a little, and I think that says a lot about what I still love most about this part of Mexico.
What you will find here
At the end of the day, SeaMonkey Business is a place for practical planning: airport choices, transfers, hotels, condos, diving, tours, day trips, travel essentials, and honest notes about what is worth your time.
